Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix displayed a knack for athletics early on discovering her talent for sprinting while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her first race, Felix was second in the 200 meters race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school having signed a professional contract with the sports company Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. The first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics, which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record running 200m in 22.18 seconds. Felix became the world's youngest champion in the 200 meters in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed within the top three across her diverse events in the Olympics that took place during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
